So to vampires: blood-drinking parasites - on the face of it, they don't sound very sexy and, looking back in history, they weren't, they really weren't, ranging from shroud-eating monsters to village destroyers. However, the vampire of many a modern romantic myth, is a handsome, alluring creature, largely thanks to a mixture of Bram Stoker's Dracula and Hollywood's many interpretations of him, and the vampire's sexually tempting cousin, the incubus.
The vampire we all love to love is, in general, a mysterious stranger, handsome, reserved, possibly aristocratic with a charm that no woman (and in the case of male/male erotica, no man) can resist. There are some equally alluring female versions, such as Regine in Fright Night 2 and many a young man has come under the spell of such a strong woman. However, we're concentrating on the male of the species here, so let's take a closer look at his classic modus operandi.
The vampire lover's stock in trade is seduction. He doesn't force, he doesn't coerce, instead, he cajoles out the inner, hidden desires of his victim. We use victim here in the loosest sense of the term, because, in modern folklore, many Lucy's (male and female) are more than willing to succumb to his charms. It is the release of constraints, the shedding of society's standards that make such a seduction so compelling to read and write, because, the vampire is, in fact, merely stripping away his lover's boundaries. Thus, it is not just the vampire who is an interesting character, if the victim is written well, he too, as he expands his horizons, becomes much more distracting ;).
Of course, there are variations on a theme of the seducer and much can be made of the power gulf between vampire and victim. A vampire can be a dominator, controlling the moment, holding all the cards. However, the victim too has power, not to control, but in the classic scenario, the master of the night is entranced by his victim, sometimes, as in Francis Ford Coppola's version of Dracula, obsessed to the point of self endangerment. This kind of helplessness in an otherwise all-powerful being allows the reader, or watcher in and can be very sexy - oo la la!
Personally, we here at Fantasy Boys XXX adore the vampire lover in all his guises: seducer, dominator et al. Hence we've chosen to launch our first story into the paranormal romance domain. Enjoy! :)

Hieron, vampire lord of Harkham, is unaccustomed to visitors in his private bedchamber unless he has expressly invited them. Such an unsolicited intrusion should mean the interloper's death, but Hieron finds himself unusually fascinated by the stranger who appears before him unbidden. Offering no name and no explanation of his reasons, the young man offers ninety nine years of absolute service in exchange for the gift of vampire power.
Amused and aroused, Hieron agrees to the bargain, names his enigma, Umi and decides he will become his newest concubine. The only thing left is to seal the deal in a bond of sex and supernatural power.
An Amusement is episode one of a male/male erotic romance, short story serial.
