The Hunt

He stood completely still. His camouflage was total, his glamour matching his environment completely. Stillness was required, but part of him wanted to cry out.
If his mate, Jun, was worthy, his mate would find him. The hunt was part of the mating game; it was instinct and he could not accept a mate without the test. The elders said magic called to magic and those truly meant to be together never failed, but it had been hours.
He needed Jun, wanted him, and his heart leapt when gentle fingers finally touched his shoulder and familiar magic brushed his soul.
