Well I couldn't just got straight for the obvious now could I? :) Had to change it up when Soph reminded me this is a "Fantasy" blog, but that wasn't too hard.

Damn Bird

Jack threw a silencing spell at the window as the damn bird crowed outside it. A low laugh made him remember that he had not retired to bed alone and he turned to see Grant grinning at him.

"A friend of yours?"

"That bloody cock hates me; every morning it's the same."

"Aww, I think he likes you. He doesn't want you to be late."

"He'll be the late one if I ever get my hands round his neck."

Grant reached out and pulled him back to bed.

"Enough of that cock, there's another one I want to play with."
