The Way Drabblerotic Works

it's really very simple. We'll write a drabble every day inspired by our word of the day and we want you to be inspired too, just write :). Our theme this year is
Animal Magnetism
And we're being inspired by the fauna of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Our word today is
T is for Turtle Dove.

Author's Note

Turtle Doves are a symbol of enduring love because they form very tight pair bonds, so that is the idea I ran with. I do hope you enjoy it. We're in the home stretch of the AtoZ now, I do hope everyone is still enjoying it.

"No!" Trent said, standing.

"But he is a thief, Your Majesty," the captain of the guard said, ready to remove his prisoner's thumb.

"He is not," Trent replied; "I gave him that necklace."

He shared a glance with Laurence who shook his head minutely.

"Why my son?" his mother, the Dowager Queen asked.

"Because I love him and have claimed him as my own," he said simply.

There was silence among the guests gathered for the treaty negotiations.

"Oh thank heavens," Princess Millandra said, "I thought it was me. Father, sign the treaty, clearly His Majesty is an honourable man."

    1. Awesome! Turtle doves just happened to be nesting above the bed & breakfast porch where we had our small, outdoor wedding reception. And a vintage music box featuring the birds served as my cake topper. ~grin~ Thanks for the fond reminder.

It looks like I will have intermittent Internet access soon, so forgive me if I don’t stop by as often. I’ll try to maximize whatever time is allowed. Happy blogging!

    3. Enjoying the A to Z challenge greatly.
Removing people's thumbs for theft when they are part of a treaty delegation, is not the done thing.
