FB3X Drabble Casacade #67 - word of the week is 'air'

Fantasy Boys XXX Drabble Cascade

Welcome to FB3X Drabble Cascade #67 - This week's word of the week is 'air'.

Suitable for all.
The Way A Cascade Works

it's really very simple, be inspired by our word of the week and just write :).

To see this week's entries check out the list at the bottom of this post. We put it behind a cut so it doesn't clog up your scrolling.

A drabble is a work of 100 words exactly. Flash fiction is a work of up to 500 words. Both may be submitted to the cascade. So What Can You Write? The simple answer is - anything! Our work here on FB3X will be erotically themed. but feel free to take the inspiration any way you want to, fiction, fanfiction, non-fiction, meta, since variety is the spice of life!

To those struck by inspiration (and no you don't have to be a professional writer to join in, anyone can embrace their inner author):
  • Below you will find a chance to join in the cascade in the form of a linked list
    • Write a drabble/flash fiction inspired by the word of the week.
    • Post the fiction to your own blog, social media, or website
    • Then insert a link into the linked list to that drabble/flash fiction for everyone to find (A hint of the genre of your drabble/flash fiction in the title of your post would be appreciated.), e.g. A Little Bit of Fun (PG, Science Fiction)
    • To encourage your friends to join in and hence cascade the fun, you can also add the list into your own post by copying the code.
  • OR you can just write us something in the comments :)
For folks who enjoy reading drabbles/flash fiction: you can then peruse the cascade to your heart's content :).

AND NOW - on to the fiction :)

Author's Note

Well, I started out with one drabble and ended up with two, because I had a yen to carry the story on just a little bit further :).

As the air rushed over him, Hal clung on, arms and legs wrapped tightly around Eryan’s torso. Each beat of his lover’s wings took them higher; he buried his face in the down on Eryan’s chest, the sense of height making him tremble.

Locked on Eryan, he started in shock when his bare buttocks were rested on the similarly soft feathers. Legs left dangling over a rock edge, he reluctantly let go as Eryan settled beside him.

“My secret place scares you. Why did you agree to come?” Eryan asked while slipping a hand into Hal’s.

“Our secret place now.”

“You have nothing to fear,” Eryan told him, slipping back off the ledge and those magnificent wings held him almost still in the air. “I will never let you fall.”

Hal shuddered, despite the strong grip that remained on his fingers.

“You know you were supposed to be just one exotic shag,” Hal confessed, before logic told him that probably wasn’t wise.

He was expecting a frown. What he got was a wicked smile, while, placing his hand the other side of Hal’s hips, Eryan leant up close.

“My friends warned me.”

Lips met his then and ‘supposed-to’s drifted away.

Spirits of Air (PG13, Fantasy)

Author's Note

~

It was cold on the mountain top as Gray slipped off his clothes. He could feel the wind as it moved around the sacred peak and it ruffled his hair.

Legend said this was where the spirits lived and, standing up straight, he held out his arms.

"Spirits of air," he called, "I offer myself, please help my people."

A cool, sharp burst of air flowed across his skin, raising goosebumps.

"Mine," what sounded like a male voice whispered on the wind.

"Done," others replied.

"It has been so long," the first voice said and a hand touched his shoulder.

  1. *A head protrudes*

Sloth-like, sniffing the air to feel and sense. Has the gauntlet been dropped in front of his dark abode?
Sounds resonate through the forest, something is up. No longer a senseless peace will drive inaction, sharp directed action, as adrenaline fueled hunting, drifts uneasy in and out of focus.
A long tongue flicks a beetle lazily of a branch. Deaf it can’t smell its way, but a vibration of tension catches its wildly rotating eye. Will it tell me a story, will I ever be challenged…

  2. Loved Eryan's wickedly grinned response. Yes, that is what friends are for.

What help will the winds give and is it only Grey's claimant or is the help from all of them? Does Grey live through this and how long does his contract last?

    1. :) I think Eryan wanted to share something with Hal, but also have him just a little bit at his mercy, on his terms.
