Drabblerotic - R is for Robot

This post contains adult themes.
Fantasy Boys XXX is joining in the The Blogging From A to Z April Challenge with Drabblerotic

where will be posting a drabble* every weekday and Saturday in April brought to you by the letters A-Z, although this isn't Sesame Street, so expect a little adult spice in our alphabet soup. ;)

*'So, what is a drabble anyway?' we hear some of you ask. And the answer is, a drabble is a piece of prose of (exactly) 100 words.

So, without further ado, onto today's drabble...

R is for Robot
It was time for a little angst in this drabble. The word robot for automota was first used in fiction by Karel Čapek in the play, R.U.R, which stands for Rossums Universal Robots and it has been used many times in science fiction since. When thinking of robots, people often imagine the form of Robbie The Robot from Forbidden Planet, but  robots, in the literary sense, do not always have to be made of circuitry.

Robot Mine

by Sophie Duncan

"Look at me, K1."

A blank gaze rose to meet his and Drake's heart tore into pieces. He reached out, touching the flashing relay at Remar's temple.

Bastards!

"Do you know me?"

That gaze never faltered. No recognition. Too late.

"How may I serve?"

Those flat words almost broke Drake, but anger flared to defend him. Mad as hell, he pushed in to bruise those unfeeling lips. He pressed, he bit and he raked his fingers through Remar's hair.

No passion left. No love. No response.

Drake stilled. Only then he felt it and his heart skipped. One tiny tremble.

  1. Excellent. This mad me angry and sad with a twinge of hope at the end.

There's the why this happened and how Drake came to have his love after the procedure. If it can be reversed is almost beyond belief.

    1. *claps* - I'm glad you went through all those emotions, that's what I was trying to engender.
